GE Unveils LED That Could Replace the 40-Watt Bulb

submitted on April 10, 2010 by siggy38 in "Products / Gadgets"

General Electric (GE) revealed a new LED light bulb that could replace every incandescent 40-watt bulb in your house. According to CNET News, http://news.cnet.com/8301-1112.....7-1_3-0-20 the Energy Smart LED bulb emits about 450 lumens, which is equal to the output of your average 40-watt bulb, but consumes only nine watts of power.
Of course, there's a catch to this so-called lighting miracle. The bulb will cost between $40 and $50 Eeek when it's released either this fall or early next year.

Hope these are not as hazardous as the CFL bulbs and they have a good way of disposing these off.

The price on these are insane. I like the CFL bulbs. They last a long time!
