From Diapers To Pets, Amazon’s Quidsi Introduces

Amazon-owned Quidsi launched an online pets supply store yesterday called

Quidsi seems to know what it’s doing. It started with, which quickly became the biggest seller of diapers online. An online toy store called will be next.’s offerings will go way beyond dog treats, with products for dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles and other small animals. The offerings will include mass and specialty branded food, litter, toys, vitamins and medicine, grooming supplies, clothing and accessories.

Quidsi was acquired by Amazon in November 2010, but the company has stayed at its original New Jersey headquarters and continues to be run as an independent subsidiary.

    I went to order my cat's food from and it said "Out of Stock". The site just launched... how can it be out of stock already? Neutral

    Amused I just looked more closely and noticed a small "BETA" on the logo...
    maybe they're not ready for prime time?
