Free Hands-Only CPR Training at American Red Cross Locations 3/19/11

submitted on March 14, 2011 by HouTex in "Member's Lounge"
Saturday, March 19th is Gabrielle Giffords Honorary Save-a-Life Saturday. This event emphasizes the importance of being prepared in the event of an emergency. Free CPR courses, which normally cost $25, are being offered through the generosity of sponsors, Safeway and Walgreens.

On March 19th, in more than 100 locations across the nation, the Red Cross will provide fast and easy classes to teach the basics of hands-only CPR, the treatment of shock and how to treat wounds. The classes will be shortened versions of Red Cross training courses, lasting approximately 45 minutes to one hour and offered multiple times during the day.

Read more details and find the participating locations at http://www.redcross.org/savealife . The map only indicates the communities participating in Save a Life Saturday. For specific training locations, please contact the Red Cross chapter listed on the map in your community.

If you cannot attend, or do not have a participating location near you, you can view a video or download the Hands-only CPR Ready Reference sheet showing the steps of this technique. Both types of training materials are posted in English and Spanish at http://www.redcross.org/portal.....f0870aRCRD
