The National Park Service turns 100 years old in 2016 and is waiving admission fees on the following selected dates throughout the year, encouraging all Americans to visit a national park this year.

The 2016 fee-free dates will be on these 16 days:
* January 18 - Martin Luther King Jr. Day
* April 16-24 - National Park Week
* August 25-28 - National Park Service Birthday
* September 24 - National Public Lands Day
* November 11 - Veterans Day
Most of the 413 National Parks are always free, only 127 of them even charge an entrance fee on other days, ranging from $3 to $30. In addition, any fourth grade student can get a free annual pass through the Every Kid in a Park
program (see https://www.everykidinapark.gov/
), and active duty military and citizens with a permanent disability can also get free passes. Get details about all passes at http://www.nps.gov/findapark/passes.htm.
*Fee waiver includes: entrance fees, commercial tour fees, and transportation entrance fees. Other fees such as reservation, camping, tours, concession and fees collected by third parties are not included unless stated otherwise.
