FREE smart phone apps on Buxr?

Has anyone considered having a free app of the day section?

Nobody really posts apps as deals because not everybody has an iphone, but as a recent NYTimes article points out "App Phones" (not just the iphone) are the latest thing, and soon nearly everyone will have one: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11.....one&st=cse

There are lots of sites that focus on free apps, but most are, well, crap. Buxr could specialize by separating the wheat from the chaff and focusing on posting one good free app per day in a highlighted spot.

I got an iPod Touch and am always looking for GOOD free or cheap Apps so I would be all for it.

Sounds great. If enough of you (iPhone and Android fans) get together I can set aside time to dedicate a page just for the apps. These would go into our main deals stream but you would be able to browse them separately.

The only potential problem I see with this idea that smart phone apps are still a somewhat narrow niche but as you rightly note - this is changing fast.

So, how many of you do have an iPhone or iPod Touch and are regularly playing with the apps on it? Any Android phone users?

I don't have a Blackberry and a Samsung Instinct. I browse this site on the Instint all teh time from work. I am going to be getting an Android phone within the next 2-3 months...I'm just waiting to make sure all the bugs are worked out before I buy a new phone.
I am always downloading different apps for my Blackberry and I am sure I will on an Android once I get it.
