Foot Locker said it was consolidating its management team, cutting jobs and closing 117 stores this quarter as the athletic shoe retailer reorganizes its business under its new chief executive officer.

I smell some possible close out sales if one of those stores happens to be local to you.

Although, I always feel a little bad for those unemployed by such closings though.

Sometimes it feels like I'm a shopping vulture, flocking to the dying carcass of a store, only to pick over the half eaten remains of stock.

Oh how the gods of capitalism giveth, and then how they taketh away... Usually with huge discounts!

My local store closed already. They didn't advertise it or anything. I went there 1 week and bought some shoes and returned the next week to exchange them and it was closed for good. At least they are reporting this now.
