Help Find Cheapest Flight - Charlotte To Bombay

submitted on September 3, 2010 by TheBest in "Member's Lounge"
Hello,

I am hunting for an international flight from Charlotte(Douglus Int Airport) To Bombay. The lowest price i am getting is 1227 from expedia. I have checked orbitz, kayak.

Is there any other sites where i can get cheaper ticket than this. Probable travelling dates Oct end and returning will be first week of Dec.

When I traveled to Ukraine earlier this year the lowest prices I found were directly at the airlines. I ended up buying from LOT (Polish Airlines) website. Any third party would be more expensive.

From http://www.cheapflights.com/ and http://www.dealbase.com you can search several sites, but I didn't find anything cheaper for you, either. Sad But US Airways http://www2.usairways.com/Default.aspx looks promising, they have a wide range of prices.

Try calling a Travel agent in Bombay or ask someone to find out for you - how much would it be to buy a ticket from them. Sometimes they can work it out better for you.

play around with the dates a little - sometimes weekday flights are cheaper.

Yep, Travel agents generally offer negotiated rates from the airlines and somewhat cheaper. I have booked through them a couple of times and it makes some difference. But since your travel dates are in october, not sure if you would still get the low price. Try these sites too:

    1. www.makemytrip.com (Call them directly at their number to negotiate).

    2. www.yatra.com

Thanks for your inputs. Big Grin .
The cheapest i found in Vayama.com. I tried calling travel agent but of no use. Vayama.com is offering the lowest. Will any sites like expedia or orbitz matches the lowest price? Any idea.

Hello TheBest - I saw your post here regarding you trying to call vayama, "but no use". Was there a problem when trying to call? Were you unable to get through or was there some other issue?

This is still new (beta), but give it a try and see what you can come up with. It also boasts an ultra-intuitive interface that responds to open-ended "natural language" searches, e.g. "San Francisco to NYC late October", or "Austin to anywhere under $200 next week" (used from site)

I like to use www.Kayak.com. You can compare against all of the sites (expedia, priceline, vayama.com, airfare.com, etc) and it gives you the best priced flights. You can also select flexible dates to see the lowest cost travel dates.
