    My dad told me about this months ago. I checked out the Florida site, and I had $50 waiting for me from a Best Buy rebate that got sent to the wrong address from 8 years ago. Filled out some forms a few weeks ago, and hopefully will see my money soon.

      I had the same thing happen to me with best buy, how do you get the forms to fill out for a lost mail in rebate that is years old?

    Great topic to alert others of unclaimed property from their State Treasurer's or Controller Office. I received $668 from the state of Colorado for Prudential Securities funds.

    I once found a Certificate of Deposit (CD) account that I opened and forgot about. LOL

    No, I didn't use the Treasury Department's savings bonds website that they mention in the WalletPop article

    Have a friend that got thousands of dollars a few years ago after I told him about our states "unclaimed" department. Made for a nice ski vacation -his treat.

    My Grandfather who passed away in the 70's has over $800 in the State of Pennsylvania's Treasurer's Dept. My brother and I are the only living survivors. I have sent all the proof needed to get the assets but was told I have to go to court and make myself executor of the will. It will cost about that much in Lawyer's fees so we will just leave it with the state.

    The mister just received $500 today from the state controller office for unclaimed money that was over 10 yrs. old. It only took 3 months!
