Expedia buys Orbitz for $1.33 billion (Take a Poll)

submitted on February 12, 2015 by YanBz in "Stores / Merchants"
Just heard in the news, Expedia buys my favorite airline tickets site, Orbitz. This is just weeks after they acquired another company in the market: Travelocity

Expedia is buying rival online travel site Orbitz for approximately $1.33 billion, adding to the stable of brands it has snapped up recently in order to extend its reach and keep pace in the fiercely competitive travel-booking industry.

Do you think this deal will make any difference for us?

it wont make any difference for me. i book my ticket or hotel stays directly with the airline or directly with the hotel. i find it just as easy and i know who to go to to discuss any problems. i just check the airlines i want to use, check dates, and book the reservation.
(didnt vote in the poll because you didnt put in the option of direct reservations.)

it will be interesting to see who expedia goes after next!
