Duplicate Deals

submitted on October 9, 2009 by phunkeey in "Buxr Website / Contests"
Is there any way to improve the screening out of duplicate deals during the submission process. I always search for a deal before posting it, and I doubt anyone intentionally posts duplicate deals, but it is really frustrating to spend time posting a deal only to find out that it is a duplicate despite having searched for it and the duplicate http address failing to register.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

One thing I could sure add is a cross search for the coupon codes used in your submission. Anything more than that requires a much larger effort. Digg has suffered from duplicate submissions for a long time (and still does)

You may already know this but for some reason apostrophes (') don't show up in deal searches. For example I was searching for "Ted's" and the apostrophe didn't appear.

It happened again with "Papa John's" I searched before posting, and the deal didn't come up.
