Hot or Not?

Domain black listed - other deal sites

submitted on April 24, 2013 by laaya in "Buxr Website / Contests"
When i tried to submit direct***** something like this, i'm getting message as domain black listed.

But, we are allowing online coupons.

This case, we all can submit FATWALLET, DEALSPL, REATILMENOT, SlickDeals, DealFind, eBates, CoolSavings, CouponMountain and many other exclusive coupons.

Admin, could you please clarify all with more information whether we can submit or not.

If yes, why only online but not direct store links which are as*****

I will try to answer your question, although I should probably wait for Yan.
If you look at the wiki it says
We absolutely do not allow affiliate deals, referral deals, or deals linking to other deal sites.

In my opinion, posting only the coupon code with a link to the store where you can apply it is completely different, and does not link to any other deal site. Occasionally, other sites may have a coupon code that they call "exclusive." At this time, you can post those coupon codes on Buxr, until one of those sites asks Buxr to remove it. Buxr just doesn't permit linking directly to any other deal site.

We are a unique deal site! I might be prejudice though. If we open ourselves up to posting deals and codes from Retailmenot & other sites then we will have multiple deals that are posted everywhere. Let's not go there! Psplove posts on this site (Not a problem) and so do others. Let's keep Buxr unique & "our" site. Just my opinion.

I agree with clover, we have our own strong community, lets share unique deals that can only be found on Buxr! If all our deals come from Fatwallet then why have Buxr in the first place?

For those of you who think that Buxr has to have all sorts of deals, here is a more pragmatic answer: other deal sites are in competition with us (over shoppers) and it would be wrong to offer them free advertising in the form of links.

Don't get me wrong I completely agree with you but I also feel like it's convenient to get all the current sales, promotions, and samples in one place. Buxr seems to have the best deals but sometimes a little searching around might find something a little better. As long as we're not promoting another site or sending shoppers elsewhere, I don't see the harm in allowing such deals.

The people on the other sites have to get their information from somewhere, so I guess it would take a little digging to find their source as to not submit a competitor. Why not have a drop box that anyone can submit to but only power users can see that have deals from other sites? That way if we get a bit of time we can try to find the promotion or sale some other way and submit it but most visitors to the site would never see where they came from. It could also be used for deals that people don't have time or a way to verify.
