I think there should be a third option to say yes but only if there is a better price available. I agree that there is such a thing as a bad deal but only if another online store has it the same day for a lower total price (after tax and shipping).

I think you should clarify your question. Did you mean:

      1. Do you want the new "Worst Deal of the Day" rule?
      or
      2. Would you buy that particular watch?

Obviously if we're here busting our butts for a chance at $10 bucks per day, we're not the kind of people that can afford such a thing. Before I got sick and was in the "well-off" category, YES, would definately buy for hubby at that price-$148 off.

No, don't want it. But OA, this is a worthless fight. The admins don't get it. Its a great deal, but apparently no one really wants it, it doesnt make it less of a deal though. Whatever, its their baby.

I think this is some kind of game plan that brings down the work for Admins. This plan will brings down too many submissions from users. We can feel that flow today from the posts. Most of the times, count will be less on weekends only. Using this game they made everyday as a Sunday Mr Green

Apart from Midget - I don't think anyone has TOO many submissions here ( not that it was a bad thing - he / she picked out good deals). But the daily limit will probably take care of that.

So just to play devils advocate... what happens *IF* (and right now I say that is a BIG if!) Buxr goes HUGE and they get THOUSANDS of users? Everyone will be limited to 1 deal because its too many for the admins? If their work load is too much they need more admins *IF* they want Buxr to be anything to anyone, and it seems Yan does.

I voted it down because I think this topic does not add anything to the community. There is enough ranting and raving in two other discussion threads.
There is a new set of rules, as there have been in the past. These rules were specifically designed by the owners and operators of the site--in my mind at least--to level the playing field as some people were manipulating the contest for their benefit as opposed to the good of the community. Let it rest. try it for a week or month and then vent if it is really that bad.

Manipulation has nothing to do with WDOTD. Yan has already taken care of it by eliminating point for voting comments and discussions.

Good answer, equipurple! I agree w/you completely! And by eliminating pts. for comments & discussions, this will cause a ton of comments being left in hopes someone will click pos. on it? And no one will bother to read d.t.

Today's worst will probably be a watch post as well, even though it is a good price for that particular watch. Note to self: do not post watch deals here Evil

See this is why I don't agree with the new editor's pick WDOTD. I don't want people to stop posting good deals just for fear of getting a bad deal award. I think bad deals should only be ones that are truly bad, as in a better deal available the same day. I guess another bad deal would be having to jump through hoops to obtain something that you may not even receive.

submissions as mentioned below tend not to attract much attention in the Buxr community

If winning is your only goal, don't overdo it in these deals.

Never once does it actually say that these qualify as bad deals just that the community probably won't pick them as best deals. That's fine in my opinion but they shouldn't be labeled as worst deals just because of that. I also think that labeling a watch as a horrible deal just before Valentine's day is a bad idea. Typically women receive jewelry on that day but why can't guys too? I try to always get my husband something nice but we celebrate 2 days afterwards to be a little cheaper. Big Grin

I'm guessing because one single person that I've never even seen before voted it down. I think it's funny how Yan tells people specifically no more deals in forums but one of the deals that is a limited time deal gets WDOTD. It used to be most deals like that would be here on the boards. Anyone notice that it was the same person 2 days in a row that got WDOTD? That's sure a good way to discourage a newer member.

Maybe you should view the comment field on that deal before assuming that it was one down vote that made it WDOTD. I came to a different conclusion after viewing the deal and the discussion. I won't push my idea because I can't speak for admin but I did see it differently.

What I don't understand is that Shanwdiaz decided to not activate it and suggested moving it to DForums. This was all in the Qs I suppose. Then Yan suggested that "Shawn, these coupons will be offered every day and so I think this deal has value" SO Yan approved of this deal and let it proceed.

People voted on it - all positive. The negative vote came after votes were done for that deal.

Also it was a really popular deal.

So It had all the makings of a good deal - maybe the information was not accurate ( we have the INACCURATE flag for that ) and suppose it ran out too soon.
        BUT

Why make it WDOTD? Still beats me.

And all the submitter was doing was relaying the information.

It's funny how preconceived ideas can change our views, I saw a deal that was activated and discussed and let to stand and then when it was found that some information was not accurate it was flagged to correct any misrepresentation that occured. Which means to me the deal is now one where in order to obtain any value you have to keep visiting the site and guessing and hope you may get that $1 coupon otherwise the deal has no value to you.

I've just been sitting back taking it all in. I have noticed alot less voting going on. I have been putting out some very good deals, and no votes, i've also noticed alot of other good deals not getting voted on as well...HMMM. But also i vote on deals i don't like because it will earn me points...HMMM. I just think if it isn't broken don't try to fix it. And please "Can't we all just get along"? L.O.l. Big Grin

This site is not consistent with it's ratings. What is a super deal on the big deal sites at times is ignored here.

Boy, are you ever right! I do post on another site and what gets headlined there, gets no votes at all here. Also 2-3x JCP deals that were headlined there, were rejected as "expired" even though I had purchased the items & emailed my confirmation to support@buxr along w/screenshot of purchase. What's up w/that? How can JCP items be available to me & rest of world but not here?

The nastiness has already begun. Someone downvoting member's comment when they downvoted her deal. I bet she hasn't voted for any of the downvoters deals since. I thought we were supposed to be acting maturely, not like a 2nd graders? I don't see anywhere in all this discussion & explanation of the rules that the person downvoted should then take retribution on the person's honest comments!
