That question popped into my mind as I watch more and more people stand in long lines to buy lottery tickets for a record $640 million Mega Millions jackpot. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-20.....0-million/
The drawing will be held at 11 pm ET today (3/30/12)
, and if there's no winner, the jackpot would increase to an estimated $975 million for the next drawing on Tuesday, April 3, 2012. Update - Winning tickets were sold!
Some people claim to have a system that guarantees they will win, see this previous topic about a 7-time "serial" lottery winner who shared his secrets http://www.buxr.com/topic/seri.....times_3839
, but I'm skeptical that would work for me and never buy them. I can't bring myself to blow the money on lottery tickets, although sales have tripled on this one as the size of the prize keeps going up. The odds of winning this jackpot are about one in 176 million, and I'm more interested in "sure" ways to save.
Am I a typical frugal shopper, or do you disagree with my view?
