Disappointment Over Valentine's Day Flowers Went Viral This Year

submitted on March 1, 2012 by HouTex in "Stores / Merchants"
Last year 60% of Buxr members who voted in this poll http://www.buxr.com/topic/whic.....mmend_4747
said they would rather use a local florist than order online. Since then we've seen some daily deals from the online florists that directed buyers to a "special discount" link to shop with their vouchers, where prices were higher than normal.

Well, apparently Valentine's Day 2012 was no different than last year, and this time angry customers vented their dissatisfaction through social media.
1-800-Flowers received more than 500 negative comments on its Facebook page from customers dissatistified with their Valentine's Day deliveries. ProFlowers received more than 200 complaints, FTD more than 300 and Teleflora received more than 1000. All four companies also had numerous Twittter messages on Valentine's Day and for several days after from customers who were dissatisfied with their orders or didn't receive them at all.

The day after Valentine's Day I was in Walmart on my way to work and couldn't believe all the flowers they had left over for 50% off. The last flowers I had delivered were sitting on my doorstep in a box in 90 degree weather. They were not in the best of shape.

Proflowers disappointed this time for me (first time they did). They did agree to return the money rightaway (points for customer service)... But nothing could compensate for the embarrassment.
