A question about deal submission and deal URL

submitted on May 26, 2014 by djhciskoski in "Buxr Website / Contests"
Sometimes when I put in the URL in on Step 1, the system cannot read it. I then change my submission to Select Store from the drop box. Then after I submit the deal, I go back to make sure the link goes to the right place and is leads me to the original URL, often the one with my name or email or address. Has anyone else had this happen? Why would the deal revert back if it is changed and the original URL cannot be read?

I can't answer it. I am having problems with Google Chrome and posting Facebook deals. It won't accept the deal URL even after dropping the "s". Perhaps Admin can answer your concerns.

Whey you say "make sure the link goes to the right place", do you mean you edit the deal and change the link to point to the right place?

Can you give a specific example (link a deal) of when you have done what you describe?

Sometimes, even though the URL does not have info to remove, my email still shows up; Payless, Bath & Body Works, so I go back after the deal is submitted to make sure nothing shows up that shouldn't. On the deal above, it couldn't read the URL, so I posted from your list of stores and the deal linked into my nearest location and not the Domino's website homepage.

There is currently a bug in Buxr code which will turn deal URL to the one you were trying to submit even if the error said 'unable to read' and you then chose the store from the list.

You can see it in the deal history for the deal you linked:
    http://www.buxr.com/examine/158044
The initial URL in the history is:
    https://order.dominos.com/en/p.....egory/All/
even though you say you chose it from the list (in which case it shouldn't be in the history at all). Here is an example of such a submission (note note deal URL in the history):
    http://www.buxr.com/examine/156425

That said, when I click on your deal link (old or new) I don't see your email. It is possible that your email is stored in the browser cookies, in which case only you will see it but not other people who click on the same link. The best way to check if this is the case if by clearing your browser cookies and clicking on the same link again.

YanBz, this is one that could not read the original URL so I pulled the store from the list. When I went back to see if the coupon was there or I needed to add it in the comments, it was the deal link.

Must be the bug you were referring to.
