Deal Titles

submitted on December 15, 2008 by phunkeey in "Buxr Website / Contests"
Is there a reason for the new deal title format? Given that the photos usually let the user know right away what store a given a deal is for, I find that the new practice of repeating the merchant name in each deal title makes it more difficult to quickly read what the deal is. Besides, the deal is what's important. Where it is found is secondary and therefore shouldn't be first in the deal title. Any thoughts?

I like seeing the merchant name, as there are certain merchants that I refuse to do business with with, and it saves me the trouble of clicking through the link. That and the photos do not always tell you what store the deal is through. It also makes it easier to connect a previously or newly posted coupon that someone may have missed, to a deal posted if you see the merchant name.

You won't believe but I am speculating over this same problem.

I would like to remove the merchant name from the title since we repeat it in parenthesis's. The problem is with new merchants that we don't have in our database (and are unable to auto-detect).

A note about the images. They don't help our members who read us via RSS feeds. RSS readers don't display images in the list view.

Oh, I see what you're saying now Phunkeey. I completely misunderstood what you meant earlier.
