Deal Submission Limit

submitted on June 29, 2010 by vectra5 in "Buxr Website / Contests"
Currently, non power users can submit only 10 deals a day. I fall into that category and sometimes I get very frustrated when I want to post a deal and it's not allowing me to do so until time clears.

Personally I believe that all users should be on equal terms here. One should not have an advantage just because he or she is a power user (although I understand power users earned it.) By advantage I mean the $5 bonus prize as well as monthly contest points.

If we remove the cap limit, do you really think the site will be flooded with junk deals from non power users? I doubt it.. If removal is not an option can it be increased to 20 deals a day?

What do you guys think?

There is a very simple reason why we have the limit in place. As you know, all non-power users' deals get through moderation. This costs the site money (yes, admins are not volunteers, they get paid). If the limit goes up Buxr's expenses go up as well and there is less money left to pay as prizes. I am sure you don't want that to happen. Wink

If you pay attention to the changes admins make to your deals and to the comments made by admins or other users about your deals, then it should not take too long to become a power user as well. Just demonstrate that you have that sixth sense (the one all bargain hunters possess) and are willing to work to get the format right (so it is easy for everyone to understand your deals) and the limit will be lifted in no time, really.

Yan, thanks for your explanation.. I am trying to improve my submission quality with every deal I post.. so maybe 1 day down the road I can join the elite group of power members...

In my opinion I believe that you will become a power user very soon as I have noticed that you post quality deals and pay attention to detail. Guess we'll see what happens next month. Smile

I, too, wish that the limit were different but definitely understand the reason. I still would like to see a "countdown clock" on the "submit a deal" page. That way, we might be able to pace ourselves based on the deals we find.

I strive to get into the elite group one day. Until then, I learn on every deal I make and often look at others' deals so that I can understand the process. Besides, I've seen, in the short time that I've been here, people come and go. Folks get really into doing it in the beginning and fade out. Buxr doesn't need to spend time and resources on "fade outs". So, proving oneself is paramount to become a power user and have a little leeway on the number of submissions.
