Deal availlability...Nice addition!

submitted on February 11, 2011 by equipurple in "Buxr Website / Contests"
Let me give a green arrow up to the new addition of online, in-store or both to the deals on the main page. Important information to highlight, and done tastefully. Good job, Yan and your minions!

Thanks, equipurple. There is more to come! Wink

P.S. I will make an announcement with details once I am done with all the updates.

Now with the new changes do we still have to include online/in-store in the title now that this is prominent on the listing and is also in the description?

Having it on the deal 3 times is kind of redundant.

For now please continue to include it in the title as well.
This is important for the way deals are tied into Twitter deal alerts.

Think of the new addition as being a backup in case a member happens to forget it in the title.

I am still sitting on this idea. I will let you know the final decision sometimes next week after I am done pushing out all the code changes. For now the rules don't change. As Solstice mentioned, Twitter and deal alerts complicate things a bit.

I love it too! It is rather agonizing when submitting a restaurant coupon and having to select the states the store is in if they aren't in each state. But, I've been told that you only need to do it once. Next time you submit a deal to that particular store, you will be able to auto-fill these states during submission.

I haven't submitted a deal yet today that is location specific.

With this new format, you say you pre-fill in the states it's located in? But then where is this in the deal? Does it automatically insert this into the description or am i still in the dark as to where these places are without a link to the store locator?

There is a list of cities in the left box. Select and move them to the right.
Yan, is a multiple selection available to add (crtl-click)?

I like this addition, too. It makes it easier to see limited availability much easier.

I have one comment about another change I'm hoping to see, we now have a comment on almost every deal -- it would be nice if each comment didn't bump that deal back up the hot deal page burying brand new deals being posted. I really do appreciate the new addition. Just thought since we're talking changes I'd add a wish.

Sandyshore, you can change the sort order of the deals view to correct that. One view is sorted by "Activity" (which is affected by adding a comment), but you can change it to the other choice, "Recency," and then you'll see the deals in order of submission, with the newest deals first.

This option is on the right side of the page for any Deals view, the third block down.

That choice is available when you click on "Coupons" - you can see All, Printable, or Online.

I just wanna know something...If we had posted some deal and that deal was rejected due to some reason and comments were closed, how can we communicate with the admin regarding that deal?

Just reply the rejection email and all of the admins will be able to read/answer your email.

When you ask a question to the admins via email and it goes to all the admins do you guys communicate with each other as to who answered it or there's a thing that says answered or is it possible that all 4 admins will/can answer your one question?

      I'm just curious.

      Yes.

Sometimes we communicate with each other depending on the issue.

We do see when another Admin has replied to a question.
(There is slight time delay sometimes, so you may on rare occasion get a second Admin if if there is not a need for it, and find yourself with two answers to the same question.)

Occasionally a different Admin will reply to a previously replied question depending on the issue and need. However, this does not occur all that frequently.
