Should Power Users be required to provide proof for future starting deals

submitted on January 4, 2012 by bemicmom in "Buxr Website / Contests", last updated on January 5, 2012 by YanBz
Since I have joined, it's been 2 months now I am observing that some members post coupon codes for online purchase which starts on some future dates even I also did once but it was posted after 5 days.

If these type of deals are posted by power members it goes thru without any verification and sometimes selected as best deal also.
If any new member post such, admin ask for verification, which sometimes we don't have. But we know that the code will be valid from such and such dates.

Rules should be equal for everyone.

This is correct, and we try (as much as humanly possible) to verify every deal that goes through. This is a community, so I ask each and every member to try and be sure that deals are correct and valid. If you see one that does not have any proof, please feel free to flag it so that Admin can see it and look into it further.

yes, inaccurate is good if there is nothing pointing out the upcoming promotion.

I have to disagree that the rules have to be the same for everyone. Power Users gain their title via consistent accurate submissions and so should not be subject to the same rules as folks who joined recently and have not learned the ropes yet.

Some deals simply don't have an openly available online proof however an experienced bargain hunter can look at multiple sources (or private sources available only to them) and make a call on the quality of the deal and on the probability of this being a genuine promotion.

We are going to miss a lot of great coupons if we limit ourselves only to those deals that are publicly advertised by the retailers.

I am going to re-activate this topic (for some reason the original poster cancelled it) since it is an interesting discussion and I would like to hear more thoughts from the community.

Should Power Users be granted a permanent relief from having to verify future starting deals? I believe they should, but there could be other opinions and I welcome you guys to openly discuss them in this thread.

IMHO, I think including that information in comments is a nice courtesy no matter who you are, and makes the deal better. If you have the information to post the deal, why not show it?

Most of the coupon codes are leaked while printing weekly ad or distributing in the post so they are pretty early then when you get ad in hand but 90% of the time codes are accurate but without proof.

I think they should need to verify. I also think before their deals are pushed though, they should be required to verify the deals that are already waiting in the queue. I've posted deals that sit for hours while the "power users" deals just bypass everyone.

I am in favor of power user rights to post future deals, and why not ? How many of future coupon codes were wrong in the past posted by power user? I don't remember any..

By the time when any buxr member becomes power user he or she has acquired the skill of evaluating the source of coupons(unadvertised and future use) are reliable or not?

I am here from past 4 years and while deal hunting many times I came across the weekly ad well in advance from other resources , like every year we get black Friday ads in advance.

When power user post any deal we pre-assume that power user has verified the deal by themselves what generally admin or power user does for the deals in the pending queue.

I have one request to all power user, please verify your deals, coupon codes, try to post every information you know about that deal, and I think all the power users are aware of their responsibilities.

One request for all the new members, please have patience , you will also become power user one day if your performance will be consistent.
