    Important Information for our Customers

    What we announced

On April 11, 2014, Coldwater Creek filed for bankruptcy in order to facilitate an orderly wind-down of our operations.
We want to express to you, our valued customers what a difficult and painful decision this was for everyone involved in our company. Unfortunately, this decision came only after we made every effort possible to sustain Coldwater Creek as a viable business.

    Appreciation to you, our customer

On behalf of all of us at Coldwater Creek, it has been a privilege to serve you, and it is with deepest gratitude that we thank you for your loyalty and your business over the past 30 years.

    Impact to you, our customer

Coldwater Creek’s stores and website are currently open for business and we remain committed to serving you.
To facilitate the wind-down, Coldwater Creek will be conducting going-out-of-business sales at a later date. Information about those sales and store closings will be made available on our website.

    Customer Policies

We will continue to accept valid returns and price adjustments under our current policy through May 7, 2014. However, we will not issue cash refunds beginning Friday April 11, 2014 through Monday April 14, 2014.
We will continue to honor the redemption of any coupons, certificates and merchandise credits with a valid expiration date through May 7, 2014.
We will continue to honor gift cards in our stores and on our website. However effective April 11, 2014 they will no longer be for sale.
We will continue to honor Spa Series Cards in our spas. However effective April 11, 2014 they will no longer be for sale.
Coldwater Creek credit cards may continue to be used as tender, however the future earned benefits of these programs has been suspended.
Effective April 11, 2014 new credit cards can only be opened in our stores.
Effective April 11, 2014, we have suspended our Rewards loyalty program:
We will not be able to enroll new members.
All future benefits of the program, regardless of level achieved, will cease. We will continue to honor any coupons or certificates previously earned with a valid redemption date, until further notice.
We will no longer accept Groupon coupons. Please contact Groupon directly for resolution.

Looks like the stores will be shutting down soon. My local store has big posters outside saying "Store Closing" - everything on sale.

    Dear Coldwater Creek Customer,

As a valued Coldwater Creek customer, we are writing to inform you that the Coldwater Creek brand and certain other assets, including its customer list, have been acquired by CWC Direct LLC. We acquired these assets because we believe in the Coldwater Creek brand and we intend to re-launch the Coldwater Cree k business in the future. We hope to regain your business by offering you great products and value consistent with Coldwater Creek's 30 year heritage.

The customer list that CWC Direct LLC acquired contains personal information, including your name and email address. As stated above, we acquired these assets because we hope to win your business back in the future when we re-launch Coldwater Creek, and no action is required on your part to remain on the customer list.

We have also changed the Coldwater Creek privacy policy, which can be found here so that we can share your personal information with The Talbots, Inc, ("Talbots"), an affiliate of CWC Direct LLC, because we believe that Talbots products may be of interest to you. Talbots would use your personal information in accordance with its privacy policy, which can be found here. You have the right to opt-out of these changes to the Coldwater Creek privacy policy, which means that Talbots will not use your personal information that CWC Direct LLC has acquired. If you choose to opt out of these changes, you will continue to receive information about Coldwater Creek. If you would like to opt-out of these changes, please click here before June 20, 2014.

The purchase of the customer list by CWC Direct LLC was approved by the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware on May 7, 2014. As a result of the purchase, you have the right to opt-out of having your email address transferred to CWC Direct LLC, but we hope that you'll stay so that we can keep you informed of the Coldwater Creek re-launch. If you would like to opt-out of having your email address transferred to CWC Direct LLC and therefore not receive further information about Coldwater Creek or Talbots, please click here before June 20, 2014. Please note that processing your opt-out request may take time and as a result you may receive communications from Coldwater Creek for a period after you choose to opt out.

We truly value your loyalty to Coldwater Creek and hope that you will continue to remain on our customer list so that we can update you as we get closer to the re-launch of the brand. We appreciate your patience and trust, and look forward to having the opportunity to provide you with quality service and products from the re-launched Coldwater Creek in the future.

    Sincerely,

    CWC Direct LLC

    Coldwater Creek

When we announced the upcoming launch of the new Coldwater Creek, you gave us lots of feedback straight from the heart, and asked many questions about the styles we will carry. Thank you for being so forthright. We value what you have to say, and hopefully we can answer some of your questions here.

Coldwater Creek Direct is a whole new website and a whole new kind of experience dedicated to bringing you the feminine, versatile styles that Coldwater Creek was once famous for. We can't wait to show you what's new when we debut the new Coldwater Creek website here in November.

We're also excited about rich, expressive color palettes, the artful hand of our distinctive patterns, modern embellishments and the unexpected details that we know you love. And because you told us how much you missed them, we're bringing back lots of your favorites very soon.

We're also delighted to introduce a beautiful new collection of petite sizes. And if you're tall we'll be bringing you your favorite pants and jeans in the lengths you need. Our famous fit to flatter styling will stay the same, and we're working hard to give you the consistency you expect from us every day.

We are thrilled to be coming soon. Thank You.

Not having associated costs of running the stores does remove a lot of operating expenses for them, so the website would be a much cheaper (and more profitable) way to run their business.

This is an interesting opinion about their bankruptcy filing and surge in sales at the end - http://blogs.wsj.com/bankruptc.....ales-boom/

If they didn't own the stores, they no longer have the store leases, that is part of the benefit of the bankrupty filing. The landlords are free to find new tenants and not remain locked in a lease agreement without any payment.
If they did own the buildings (it's likely they did not), they were sold in the liquidation.

That makes sense, it is too bad though. Their stores were big and we have a few open spot already in our mall. Talbots and Ann Taylor left a few years back. Easier to shop online, but I hate to have to pay for returns or make the trip to malls which still have stores standing.

their catalogs were some of the nicest catalogs around....loved how they styled items and didnt have any models in them.
their stores were nice also, but i shopped mostly online because it was a lot easier AND i could find coupon codes for online purhases. i DID love the bargains at their outlet stores though.
