Cigarette Packs to get a Makeover - Graphic Warnings

The Food and Drug Administration threw down the gauntlet on cigarette warning labels in a big way Wednesday, unveiling 72 images and nine warning messages that could make their way onto cigarette packages and cartons.

    I'll take a pack with a black, moldy looking lung on it please. Glad I don't smoke and I'm also happy that the wife quit when she got pregnant. Now she's a gym junkie. Smile

    I saw a segment about this on the news last night. It said in the 1960's, something like 47% of the population smoked. Nowadays, it's closer to 21%.

    We're getting there, little by little.

    I doubt this is going to help much. Europeans have been doing it for some time and I read in a study that images like this get used to very quickly and after that smokers just stop noticing them.

      Sad to say - if price/tax increases didn't stop people from smoking, I agree that the health warnings and shocking pictures won't either.
