Choosing a product image

submitted on March 16, 2009 by mutatedgene in "Buxr Website / Contests"
Often times the deal submit tool doesn't pull the right picture describing the product and changing the link doesn't have any effect. If the right picture doesn't come up how do we choose a picture to best describe the product on sale?

If Buxr doesn't detect the image properly (and it is not shown in the list on 'The Details' screen during submission) you can change it to anything you like by following these steps:

    1. Open the product page and copy the image URL. This is best done using Firefox (as shown in the picture). For IE you will need to right click, choose 'Properties', and copy 'Address (URL)'.

    2. Paste the URL you just copied into the "Image URL" entry field on "The Details" screen

You should be able to see the new image on the preview screen before you submit the deal

If there are no good images on the origianl web page, you can type the company name into google, and hit images...then right click and copy image location.

Or better yet search for company name + logo, e.g. "staples logo"

Here is another tip. If you submit a sale or coupon that links to an email (as opposite to the store website) and Buxr couldn't detect the merchant, then you will see a "Merchant" drop down list. Select your store name from the list and in many cases you should see the store logo appear in the images list in the first position. All you have to do then is just select it by clicking on it
