Children fail to recognize online advertising

“Hey kids, this is advertising.”

A thin banner with those words, or some variation of them, appears on various game sites that are aimed at children and sponsored by food companies like General Mills.

Yet, children tend to not recognize this as advertising.

    I can't wait to watch this movie:
    "Pom Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold"

    The producer is Morgan Spurlock, the maker of "Super Size Me"
    The movie is about how marketing and product placement industry works and all their "dirty" tricks.

    Kids believe what they see and think they are invincible! I work with ESE 5th graders and I am afraid for them to move on to Middle School! School is not like "how I remember it."
