Charging Your iPhone is Surprisingly Cheap!

submitted on September 25, 2014 by HouTex in "Products / Gadgets"
Smartphones are low power devices that don't need much electricity to recharge. In fact, their energy consumption is minuscule. You might be surprised at the results posted in an Opower study http://blog.opower.com/2014/09.....-47-cents/ . I had no idea they were so low!

These are the estimates for an entire year:

iPhone 6 Plus - 52¢
iPhone 6 - 47¢
iPhone 5 - 41¢
Samsung Galaxy S III - 53¢
(data also taken from http://blog.opower.com/2012/09.....-0-41year/ )

Compare that to power used by other devices:

iPad - $1.36
Laptop - $8.31
Digital Photoframe - $10.34
Desktop - $28.21
Xbox 360 - $40.24
