Cash is not always welcome at Apple stores

submitted on May 18, 2010 by MrCheap in "Stores / Merchants"
I couldn't believe when I first read this story - you cannot use cash to buy iPad or iPhone. This is official company policy.

It is said that "cash is king" and that people can buy anything with U.S. currency. But, that is not always true and the red hot Apple iPad is a case in point.

It is unbelievable but true.

Apple Computer has come a long way since its old renegade pirate days when it was all about making computers accessible to everybody. Now, it seems the company is more worried about guarding against piracy.

So, your cash is not always welcome at the Apple store.

How about buying a gift card and paying with it? Buy the GC at their store and pay with it. Hope we can do that.

According to Apple sales policies at http://www.apple.com/legal/sal.....il_us.html , they won't accept gift cards either!
    iPad Sales Policies

In addition to all Purchase Policies stated above, the following additional policies apply to iPad sales:

    * iPad purchases are limited to 2 per customer and must be purchased with a Credit Card or Debit Card only.
