Can we have seller ranks?

submitted on August 31, 2009 by MrCheap in "Buxr Website / Contests"
It would be cool if we could rank sellers based on our past shopping experience and Buxr could then show the aggregate next to the seller name on the deal page. Sometimes the deal price looks low but I don't know if the seller is any good and so it is not clear if the deal is actually hot. It would help a lot if I could see a simple 3 point rank next to each seller, say, green - reliable, yellow - some complains, red - major complains. What do you think?

Yeah ..would be very helpful. Especially when it comes to paying a few $$s for better vendors. Easier to compare

Seller rating (votes) being different from deal voting.

Alright I see the point being made in the article, but Buxr is a heck of a lot more interesting and better designed, while still preserving a simplistic but effective approach.

CraigsList drives me nuts, its sloppy, unappealing to the eye, difficult to navigate at times, and frankly I will never be able to accept its success or continued existence.

I am not saying we should copy CraigsList. Usability wise the site is a mess. What I mean is the guy (Craig Newmark) turned down plenty of opportunities to make money and kept CraigsList free. All because he had this big idea of making the site as democratic as possible. This helped him bring CraigsList where it is.
