Buxr Needs an App!

submitted on May 7, 2009 by phunkeey in "Buxr Website / Contests"
Buxr needs an app for the iPhone. It could be free and allow users vote on deals and save deals for later by either emailing them or adding to the wish list.

Do you mean pick up the tab?

      How much does it cost?

It costs many hours of Java development which I currently don't have. If we find an interested programmer willing to participate we may be able to cover some of their costs.

That said our budget is extremely limited and we will not be able to offer anything resembling the normal compensation (read: "this has to mostly come out of the said individual's spare time"). I hope I have been clear on this. Neutral

If Buxr had a mobile version of the site then anyone with a cell phone could participate. Just an idea

Hey guys, I'm learning how to program for the iPhone right now, and I should have my licences from Apple in a few months, if everything goes acording plan... I might be able to help you guys once I get up and running. But right now I'm typing on my iPhone, and I don't see what's so hard about going to Buxr through your phone.

It's not that hard, just involves a lot of scrolling around & enlarging. It'd be easier w/ a dedicated app. A mobile version might work too. Any other iPhone users?

I go to Buxr from my HTC G1 fairly often. Just as you said, a lot of scrolling around but overall not too bad. Looking at how fast smart phones get adopted, I think a mobile version of Buxr will not be needed very soon since everyone will have a phone with a large screen and a decent browser. Smile
