I have found that some stores will match online prices if you have proof of the online price with you in the store.

Also take some time to realize what the estimated monetary value of your time is. If you can save $200 off a TV but it requires you to waste 4 hours, find out if your 4 hours are worth more or less than $200. (This is just an example with made up numbers but the idea holds)

The best plan is planning ahead for both BF and CM. If you are not prepared, you may not be too happy with yourself. This in turn could lead to anger at other shoppers. So be careful!

      Couple of my tips:

1 - I try to go shopping in the order the stores open AND that are grouped closer together. That way I maximize everything!

2 - Call stores that don't mention black friday ads (like Zara which opens at 8am and is offering almost 50% off entire store)

3 - Try on clothes ahead of time, know my size...trying on clothes during Black Friday will easily add 2 hours per stop...finding the clothes, trying on the clothes, waiting in line to check out...

      I can't wait!

I'm loving shopping early on-line instead of waiting for Black Friday. I want to be able to enjoy time with my family instead of chasing the store deals, especially since BF is starting on Thanksgiving this year??!!

I also like to keep an ongoing wish list at Amazon. Not only can you add outside retailer links to your Amazon wish list now, but they have a Wishlist Sweepstakes going, too! Win, win, WIN! Smile

The issue with online shopping is that some sites go down with the massive amounts of traffic hitting them. So you spend more time trying to get through and miss out on deals. Happened to me two years in a row.

Take a few of those collapsible eco-tote bags to haul your treasures if you are shopping in the malls. The handles on plastic bags stretch and make carrying them difficult especially for bulky items. Suggestion for women to wear a crossbody bag so you can organize your cash & credit cards.

If there is something that I have to have, I will be in line on Black Friday. Most of the deals that I am finding are already at Walmart. Plus they ad match any ad, so One Stop Shop is the best way to go for me! I'll gather my ads and head to Walmart. Then wait for Cyber Monday for all of the other deals that I missed.

Find out where everything is in the store ahead of time. Typically the door busters are the ones they move to a new spot in the store but occasionally the only partially move other items. I got lucky a few times with this. While people grabbed everything off displays I casually walked to the aisle and got the same items and a better spot in the checkout line.

We have a clutter-free policy. You can't purchase anything which might take up space (such as magazines, books, etc.) without prior permission from recipient. We're also allowed to issue a list of "banned substances" for anything we definitely do not want. (For example, I have enough hair products to last the remainder of my life.) Practical gifts seem most appreciated (maybe because we're all adults). Ground rules for any electronic or tech purchases--must include assembly or installation (by either purchaser or professional) plus individual instruction about how to operate the gadget so it doesn't sit in a closet, unused.

I make a policy of never buying full price if I can. Be aware of when stores have their annual sales. Things automatically will go on sale to make room for the new season. I watch certain items that I like to see if they go down in price. Buy at the end of the season and buy classic. That way you are never out of style and you save money!

Decide on your needs first, verify if the quality beats the price and shop as a group in store to avoid long checkout delay.
Both in Online and store make sure that the item on sale is going NOT to be outdated soon/worst rated item.

I make a list of what I want to get. Then I check out deals on line, recommendations and look for coupons (thanks to Buxr!) Going out to get my deals is the fun part!

I have found it's good to take your phone with you and have a network of other people so you can stay totally up to date about the best deals.

This year the budget is VERY tight. If I buy something and see it at a lower price I go back the the original store and give them a chance to price match. Most stores will do that now.

We went shopping in the morning this year on Black Friday after the stores have been open for hours! Not only did we spend more time shopping than standing in line. We were also still able to get the doorbusters that they advertised. Who knew showing up at 7 am would actually be better than standing in line at midnight on Thanksgiving?

I just ran the random number generator at random.org and it said that the winner is,... sueskabuxr, who was #147 out of 170 members who took the poll.

The winner, please go to your account & payee page and update postal address and contact phone number (Amazon requires it for tablets). Here is the direct link: http://www.buxr.com/account

Trying to post a few pictures. (Sorry not the best quality, harder than I thought) This lightweight tablet is very convenient to carry in a purse and so far I have been using it to browse the web, take notes, and read books. If you do not yet subscribe to Amazon prime, the Kindle Fire comes with a free month trial. Much more to discover.

Thanks for sharing the photos. Buxr looks great on your tablet! Wink

I just received an email from Amazon explaining how to "get started" with your Kindle Fire which I forwarded to you. I guess it is a bit late at this point but go though it anyway in case there are some important points.
