Black Friday 2013: What deals are you looking to score?

submitted on November 18, 2013 by JackBauer in "Member's Lounge"
Black Friday is upon us. It is less than two weeks away. By now our expert deal hunters, not to confused with DealHunter, have seen what Black Friday 2013 has in store for us and I was wondering where and what you will be shopping for this Black Friday?

Personally, I have felt Black Friday has lost its appeal now that most deals are available for purchase online. Also, in my opinion, deals are not what they used to be. "Black Friday" "deals" are not really deals at all. To me, for the most part, they seem like the same recycled deals we see throughout the year.

What do you guys think?

I didn't think they were as spectacular as years before, except for HHGREGG.
They are going to have mega deals like 55" TVs for only $399 !!!
If there is no limit, I'm getting one for every room in the house that doesn't already have a TV. Big Grin

I love pre thanksgiving or post thanksgiving. If you want to buy a T.V., January will be the best. I had scored the best price ever which I had bought in 2013 January from Paul's TV

I got a laptop form my kids. It was a teaser item in Office Depot (only one per store). I checked back prices though and looks like I could have gotten a better deal a couple weeks ago. So much for hot deals on Black Friday.

I noticed a lot of items were the same or higher than Labor Day and Veteran's Day promotions. Very disappointing. Even the "hot" Lowes hardware deals were not as good as previous years, many items were "special purchase" and not really marked down. A lot of the apparel was final clearance marked down again.

A local used car promotion was pretty interesting - they had 3 groups of sale cars $1, $1,000, or $10,000 - a mystery price would be revealed at the end. Mainly they wanted to get rid of some inventory.
