Beware of After-Market Auto Warranties From Third Parties

submitted on January 26, 2011 by orangearrows in "Member's Lounge"
I got an letter from Jeep telling me that my warranty was expiring and that I should renew it asap. I was like --- what??? I paid 2k for extended warranty when I purchased the car. What's this all about.
Then carefully reading the letter - it was never from Jeep. It was some company in FL selling covering warranties. They made the letter so authentic - it would fool anyone ( It was with VIN # - last 4 digits - car make ...the whole 9 yards)

Be careful of them out there

You can also check with your State Department of Insurance, as some warranties are insurance products.
