I use CVS because when I have ordered online I get 1 or 2 of my most hated results: pixellation and heads cut off. I think the online thing is harder because when you've ordered 100 prints and your head is cut off in 15, you've wasted money. And you don't want to deal with returning the photos and complaining. It's so much easier because if this happens in CVS you can simply show the photo center employee the picture, tell them you obviously aren't going to pay for a photo with your head cut off, and they will fix it and likely give you a credit. As much as I'd like to be able to use online services, I haven't found one that impresses me yet!

I've found that the mail order photo sites have much better quality than the drugstores like CVS and Walgreens. I've been on the receiving end of all those free Walgreens collages and free prints over the past year and the color and quality of those prints are really not that great. I've gotten some prints where they crop off part of the photo from the top. I assume they probably got slammed when they offer these free prints and the photo tech doesn't want to redo the orders where they mess up the print. Afterall, they were free so I can't really complain! Smile

If I want really nice prints or need enlargements for framing, I would definitely go with Snapfish or Kodak Gallery.

I very rarely take pictures. I've never used a by mail service for photos. I like the convenience of CVS. I go there weekly for their deals.

I recently signed up for the Walmart Photo Center promo and received 25 free prints. The prints were ready super fast and they were great quality. I liked their service better than Snapfish and Walgreens.

I've used Walgreens for years since they have the most locations in town so I can pick them up wherever is most convenient. I like snapfish and shutterfly quite a bit too but mostly only use them with free print promotions. As far as paying full price I stick to walgreens because I don't have to wait for shipping and it's easy to get a reprint if a photo is not right. I've even taken rolls of film there that were old and if they don't print correctly, they won't charge me.

Best digital print quality from snapfish.
I got prints develop from walgreens and CVS too, but to my eyes snapfish quality is best.

I agree with all of the review's comments about Walgreens. Easy to use, though limited in the options for editing. But the pics always get printed just the way I viewed them on the screen. And, as it says in the review, their specials and promo coupons occur quite frequently, so most of the pics I've had printed there were done for free.

As far as the picture quality, I've always found that Shutterfly helps make my pictures look their best. Much better than prints I've gotten back from Walgreens, CVS or Snapfish.

We(my wife and I) normally use snapfish or shutterfly. Occasionally use winkflash when they have free offers.

I just think you can have both bad and good luck with any service you use. You almost have to use each service several times and then look at the consistency of good quality prints. While saving money is great, it isn't saving money if you don't get what you want.

I have used numerous printing services in the past and found that shutterfly and Kodak prints are literally unbeatable for the value and quality of prints they offer. Walgreens print quality is good to if you prefer a B&M store.

I just ran the random number generator at random.org and the winner is sandyshore who was #7 to take the poll. Congratulations and thanks to everyone who participated! We have learned some useful photo printing tips.

By the way, my personal favorite was Winkflash until Snapfish partnered with Walgreens, at which point I became their regular. The convenience of being able to order online and pick up in-store was just too good. Smile
