Best Buy's BIG Pricing Error

submitted on August 12, 2009 by HouTex in "Stores / Merchants"
If it sounds too good to be is!

You have probably heard by now that Best Buy will not be honoring this morning's advertised price for a Samsung 52-inch LCD TV. The electronics retailer said the $9.99 price posted Wednesday morning on was an error. Even though shoppers were able to purchase the TVs online, they will not be able to complete the deals. By early afternoon, the error was corrected. The model was reportedly posted at $1799.99, but none of those on the site match that information.

I am not surprised. Price errors are typical and happen left and right with retailers.

What's surprising is the reaction from outraged shoppers when they found out their purchases would be cancelled. Some of them tried to take advantage of the store when they ordered 10 TVs because they KNEW it must be a mistake when they first saw it. The local news had a field day interviewing the angry "cheated" shoppers.
