A million iPhone and iPod Touch owners have downloaded the B&N Bookstore app or the B&N eReader app for free from the Apple App Store.
According to a press release from Barnes & Noble, Inc., the free B&N eReader app is one of the most popular apps in the iTunes Books category, ranking No. 1 all summer. There have been almost two million AT&T Wi-Fi sessions since free Wi-Fi became available in all Barnes & Noble stores six weeks ago.
The iPhone/iPod touch app allows you to browse bestsellers, B&N Recommends, and new releases lists, as well as watch video interviews with authors. You can check events at your local store, and find the closest Barnes & Noble with maps and directions.
Here's a cool feature: if you take a photo of a CD, book, or DVD cover, you can immediately receive product details, editorial reviews, and customer ratings, and even find and reserve a copy.
The eReader app works with iPhone/iPod touch, BlackBerry smartphone, and PC or Mac, providing the ability to have instant access to more than 750,000 eBook titles.
