Back to school shopping is about to get a little less expensive if you are one of the fortunate ones to live in a state that offers a tax free holiday in time for back to school shopping. From clothing to computers to school supplies find out when the best times to stock up in these items are.

Here is the list of states who offer a back to school sales tax holiday:

Alabama | Dates: August 6 - August 8 |
Items included: Clothing up to $100, Computers up to $750, School supplies up to $50, Books up to $30

Connecticut | Dates August 15 - August 21
Items included: Clothing and footwear up to $300

Florida | Dates: August 13 - August 15
Items included: Clothing and books up to $50, School supplies up to $10

Illinois | Dates: August 6 - August 15
Items included: Clothing, footwear, and school supplies up to $100

Iowa | Dates: August 6 - August 7
Items included: Clothing up to $100

Louisiana | Dates August 6 - August 7
Items included: All consumer purchases of tangible personal property up to $2,500

Maryland | Dates: August 8 - August 14
Items included: Clothing and footwear up to $100

Mississippi | Dates: July 30 - July 31
Items included: Clothing and footwear up to $100

Missouri | Dates: August 6 - August 8
Items included: Clothing up to $100, Computers up to $3,500, School supplies up to $50

New Mexico | Dates: August 6 - August 8
Items included: Clothing up to $100, Computers up to $1,000, School supplies up to $15

North Carolina | Dates: August 6 - August 8
Items included: Clothing and school supplies up to $100, Instructional material up to $300, Computers up to $3,500, Other computer items up to $250, Sports equipment up to $50

    Me either Sad ... I have to cross state lines if I want to shop tax free, unless retailers plan to offer us a special to get us to stay home.

    Texas Sales Tax Holiday is this weekend! I will be partaking in saving an additional 8% that I won't be paying in sales tax. Big Grin
