Anyone else experiencing the BLIZZARD?

submitted on February 8, 2013 by mommy25 in "Member's Lounge"
Here in Massachusetts we have been preparing for the storm for a few days. It is definately here. The wind gusts have increased tremendously throughout the day, as well as the snowfall. They are predicting winds up to 80 MPH, and heavy snowfall of 2-3 inches an hour. Although it looks beautiful on the beach, it is pretty scary out there. I will probably lose power, if so i will check in when it comes back on. I hope anyone else experiencing this stays in and stays safe.

I know we have several Buxr members in the northeastern U.S. who will be enduring lots of snow and high winds overnight. I hope you are all warm and safe!

Here in Chicago we had a lot of snow yesterday and today, probably around 2ft, but no wind. It is very pretty right now with all the trees in snow. Kids finally can make a snow-man. We have not had any snow up until now and I started to worry that this winter will be just like last one w/ no snow at all.

Stay safe you there on East Coast!

Here in CT, we are slammed by the blizzard which dumped more than 3 ft snow in some areas and brought the traffic to a complete standstill. The cars are literally buried in the snow and thats going to be the case for atleast a couple of days.. there are parking bans and all the highways are banned from travel including all transits of anytype..fortunately we still have power here in our area but its been a terrible storm since a long long time!

Best wishes for all the Buxr Members that are experiencing this. Growing up in Upstate NY I can definitely say I can't do winters again. Take care all!

I'm back. We only lost power for 1 day. Remarkable given the amount of power lines down. We got around 2 ft...but it was the best snow to make snowmen. This was actually the first snow since my sons birth (He is now 4), that we have been able to make a snowman. Today we will be sledding. Big Grin

2 feet of snow here in Southeastern, Mass. Lost power for about 28 hours. All fine now! Thanks for your thoughts. Snow on the farm:

Our horses all live outside with access to shelter, either "in and out" stalls or run-in sheds. They have nice thick fur coats compliments of mother nature and nice warm and dry blankets from my wife. In general, they are safer on their own than they are locked in a barn--nature and instincts and all.
