Amazon Wants to Hire Drone Pilots

submitted on November 17, 2014 by HouTex in "Stores / Merchants"
Is this the dream job for you? Wink According to this job posting - http://www.amazon.com/gp/jobs/289867/ref=j_sr_1_t Amazon is moving forward with their plan to test and implement Prime Air, their proposed drone delivery service. They're looking for engineers with flight experience.

If federal aviation rules change in 2015, the company will be able to start testing its drones, which they call "octocopters," to deliver small packages. Under the current laws, the model Amazon wants to use is not allowed for private use. When Amazon first announced the plans last year, they suggested the drones could do half-hour deliveries. The models would have a range of 10 miles and handle products under five pounds, which is nearly 90% of what the company sells.

Don't count on getting your holiday packages this way any time soon, it's likely to take 4 or 5 years before that happens!

This got to be a joke! Or more likely... a marketing trick. Smile
