Amazon Considering Free Kindles for Prime Members

You might want to start paying for prime membership at Amazon. Just read on,sounds good to me.

There are more rumors fluttering around Seattle that at some point, likely the holiday season of 2011, Amazon will start giving away its Kindle e-book reader for free, likely to select (as in Prime) members. And as the e-book market expands, the possibility is looking more and more likely.

I'm betting there will be some clause where you had to have already been an Amazon Prime subscriber for 6-12 months, else people will be signing up in November and then canceling in January.

My Prime membership's free since my hubby's a student. I bet that clause will specify paying prime members.

I actually won a Kindle and while I like it, I'm still a page turner; I like a physical book!

I very rarely buy books, so Kindle is of little value to me

Now, if only iPad was free... am I asking to much?

The article does say "considering" free Kindles and secondly references the offer to possible "select" as in prime members. Well, the word of "considering" gives everyone something to buzz about while its also a good marketing tool for Amazon.
