You need to customize it to your city to see city-specific deals.

Orange, referral links are not allowed in Buxr forums (I edited out the referral code).

That totally sucks. I didn't think groupon was competition to BUXR.

Anyways - people sign up and watch for some sweet deals.

It is not about Groupon being competition. It is about the poster's monetary incentive to write whatever they do. Look at it this way, if this discussion topic has a referral link that makes you $$$ with each sign up, how can everyone know if you are sincere with what you say? Are you truly obsessed with Groupon or do you say so to gain more attention to your post?

Sorry, Orange, I am somewhat playing devil's advocate here, and your intentions may be truly sincere for what they are worth, but I would rather not take the chance, and this is why referral links are not allowed on Buxr. Hope this makes sense...

I do know the rules - wonder if other websites have the same attitude towards BUXR referral links.

Anyways - wanted to share it since it's a great site and saves me a lot of $$$. Am surprised it was not posted earlier.

Well this website can kiss my butt. It's making me so mad. It keeps trying to get me to sign up but won't go through. Aside from that I picked my city but never a state. There are 47 states with the same city/town in it...how will they know which one I'm from?

Well it finally went through but ended up picking a different city. The other city is 2 hours away from me and in a different state. Apparently when signing up it lets you pick a city but then changes it on ya. Thanks Orange for the heads up but I still wanna kick it's butt! lol

That's sweet. Our area has not had anything like that but I got hold of a 2 day rafting trip for $77 ( half the usual price). Today was $30 coupon for $15 at the local Mongolian Grill Big Grin Big Grin

Not sure if GroupON is saving me any $$$ since after signup I have spent quite a few.

Well - a lot of times the deals are around the city - so sign up and see what comes up. I signed up for DC area and the deal came for a rafting trip in WV which is about 6 hours away. But it's something we all have been wanting to do and it was 50% of the cost ( discounts like these are very rare ) - so it worked out. A lot of outdoor deals ( ballon rides / skydiving / horse riding ....etc) are usually outside the city.

A recent deal around our area was for an accupuncture session Razz
(So far, mostly nothing worth having.)
Another was tandem sky-diving, and we passed on that one, too. Surprised

Now another site similar to Groupon has popped up, called Grouby (http://www.getgrouby.com/ "Superhero of Savings") with only 36 cities so far. Groupon has 98 participating cities.

I signed up for Grouby - but there don't seem to be any deals for my DC area although the city is listed. They seem to be having deals off n on.

Also look into buywithme.com - again something similar but GROUPON seems to work out the best.

Another similar site is HomeRun. HomeRun offers deals on restaurants, spas, salons, bars, events, fitness, fashion, nightlife, travel, beauty, and more. They hand-pick the best businesses and negotiate 50%+ off deals just for members. This is another one that is only in the major cities, right now.

Sometimes Groupons for the daily deal in that particular city, but it's really a website from which anyone can order and have their item shipped. Most recently, a $75 WineInsiders.com gift certificate for $25 comes to mind.

I just wish Groupon would designate this somehow: like "hey everybody, look at Dallas today because it's not just for Dallas-area residents," maybe an asterisk or something.

I also just received an email that the deals in my city that were historically only posted Monday through Friday will also be posted on Saturdays going forward. Neat!

The more I thought about it, the more I thought I should tell Groupon that I thought they should indicate that somehow.

If anyone else agrees and wants to tell Groupon too, you can do so at http://www.groupon.com/contact-us

I agree - a deal which is across the board - should be highlighted on all pages.

You can also google for groupon deals - there are many websites which compile daily deals and mark the universal ones - an extra step - but it works for now.

But again - if groupon is reading this - it makes sense to add this on their TO-DO list.

How do you find out which groupon deals are for everyone without looking on buxr, google, etc to see what deal is nationwide.

When I click into groupon it is automatically set to show deals in my area.

I want to broaden the horizon and find out if there are better deals available that are not really location specific but available for everyone to purchase.

    How I do this?
