I think 8+8 means there will be 8 GB in the laptop and 8 GB extra on an SD card you will get with it. From one of the reviews:

Yes, there is only an 8-gig hard drive in the unit, with another 8 on an removeable SD card in the side.

I prefer Mead 5-Star. Covers are very durable.

Yes. They are cheap, lightweight, and excellent battery life. LOL

Personally I would recommend just about anything before Acer, but it looks like you've already committed to that line of products. Hope it works out well for you, but keep that warranty info well filed. Wink

Agree with Solstice. Can't say about the two netbooks you linked but in general I am not impressed with quality of Acer laptops.

Acer just announced (in London) new line of netbooks

Two new netbook models were on display, the Aspire One 751 and D250, the former taking a slight departure with some interesting design details.

The 11.6-inch Aspire One is equipped with an Intel Atom processor and Mobile Intel US15W Express Chipset and claims 8 hours battery life based on a 6 cell 5200 mAh battery.

With a 160GB hard drive and a multi card reader, there's also 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G options, Dolby Pro Logic sound and a WXGA back-lit LED screen.
