Just found a book I am going to read. It was mentioned on Public Radio today during Marketplace

Cheap: The High Cost of Discount Culture by Ellen Shell

The title to this post is actually a Russian/Ukrainian saying that precisely describes what this book is about. Never buy stuff solely because it is on sale. Ask yourself how well the thing you buy serves your needs and if you are getting the money's worth for it
