80% Of AOL Revenue Is Subscribers, 75% Of Whom Don't Need It

submitted on January 22, 2011 by webbyone2010 in "Member's Lounge"
A New Yorker profile this week details how 80% of AOL's revenue comes from subscriptions, and, according to an ex-AOL exec, 75% of those users are people who subscribe to the dial-up service and don't need. Basically we're talking about folks who have another kind of ISP and don't realize that you don't need to pay AOL anymore if you're just using it for email.

Do you still pay for AOL? It's not necessary. Read on to find out how to keep your AOL email for free: http://www.microsoft.com/isapi.....&ar=CLinks

AOL is a hacker heaven. So many exploits and sometimes unwary users. Not a service provider I would ever recommend.

I know when I tried to cancel many years ago it was a big hassle, they were difficult and it was several phone calls before they ever actually cancelled the service. I never wanted them in the first place, my kids were convinced we needed AOL.

Someone hacked into my email and sent all my contacts spam for Viagara. Was a bunch of fun getting a call from my dad asking why I'm sending him a link to a Viagara site.
