8 Things You Didn't Know About Dreams

submitted on September 11, 2010 by tammy987 in "Member's Lounge"
Everyone dreams—every single night—and yet we tend to know so little about our dreams. Where do they come from? What do they mean? Can we control them and should we try to interpret them?

1. Dreaming can help you learn.
2. The most common dream? Your spouse is cheating.
3. You can have several—even a dozen—dreams in one night.
4. You can linger in a dream after waking.
5. Even bizarre dreams can be interpreted.
6. Recurring dreams may be your mind’s way of telling you something.
7. You can control your dreams.
8. You don’t have to be asleep to dream
1. Do you remember your dreams?
2. Do you have recurring dreams?
3. Do you believe you can control your dreams?

On the "do you remember your dreams", a nice option I would have chosen would have been "sometimes."

According to Freudian psychology, if you dream in color, it is sexually based.

Ask and you shall receive. Big Grin BTW, I dream in color and I don't remember them having any kind of sexual connotation. Of course, Freud was kind of stuck on sexual interpretation of everything. Roll Eyes

Wink I have NEVER dreamed my spouse was cheating! Probably because he's got the best already!

It is extremely rare that I remember my dreams, normally go for months at a time without remembering them at all. And its of course the crazy ones that I remember.

I'll take the punishment and admit to my last dream it was about a week ago. -

It was at my wifes niece apartment. I was outside with her boyfriend and a van pulled up with 4 "skinheads" in it. They jumped out brandishing BUTTER KNIFES, and kidnapped the neighbor how lives down stairs. Her boyfriend and I just stood there, I'm not sure fearing for our lives of being "buttered" or just frozen in disbelief... Either way we did nothing to stop it.

So go ahead and analyze that Freud! Eeek
