Sometimes you can find that we all have some debt at one point or another in our lives and that they seem to mount up so fast that they can quickly get out of control.

Here are five simple strategies that will help get you on the path to being debt free – as well as some resources to help you get started:

1. Put your debts in writing
2. Adjust your tax withholdings at work
3. Have a garage sale
4. Use financial windfalls properly
5. Avoid the "minimum payment" trap

    1. If I put my debts in writing...it will be in my face and it will depress me even more causing me to drink more wine.

    2. No can do!

    3. My garage is set up for Monthly Garage sales. I just have to go out and dust everything off every now and then.

    4. Would that be my Buxr "winnings?" I buy beer and wine...is that considered using the $ properly?

    5. I do pay more than the minimum! Now I feel better!
