American Express cardholders receive $25 credit on their AmEx statement for spending $25 or more at a qualified small business on November the 27th. American Express organized the Small Business Saturday event in order to support small businesses such as shops and restaurants. New York City is the first one to participate in the Small Business Saturday event, with Mayor Bloomberg and American Express Chairman and CEO Kenneth I. Chenault launching the nationwide campaign to spur business for local shops, restaurants and other small merchants.
