I had a friend that purchased this laptop and had some difficulty installing other OSes such as XP, Linux on it due to device incompatibility. So if you plan on keeping Vista then this would be an OK buy. Good luck.

I found a good deal here on a Lenovo with some stacked deals for just over $500 including shipping. It runs everything I have including some scientific/statistical software w/o a problem. If you're a hardcore gamer I don't know that you'd be happy though. I watched for deals for months and could not do any better anywhere.
