Hey pirate Smile I have a question. Have you bought refurbs before...if so, what kind of luck have you had with them?

    1. Clean out your cache and you will find that my avatar/pic changed. I have not been a pirate for quite some time. But don't worry "Oberon the Pirate" will return one day, much to the disdain of many.

    2. I can tell you that the refurb Sansa c250 (2gb) I bought for $22.99 was well worth the price, as they are normally $60. I have never had a problem with it, or any other refurb for that matter, as they are checked out quite fully during the reconditioning process.

As a general rule though, I say that unless your saving at least 25% don't bother, as often the warranty period is much shorter on a refurb. For example the warrenty on my Sansa c250 was only 90 days and just expired a few days ago.

Although if you think you might be re-selling the product later on an auction site its nice to have the original packaging, as it boosts the value of re-sale. Virtually always with a refurb you don't get the original packaging it came with.

Wow I never received a compliment before, or are you telling me something else. It is so hard to tell tone or meaning with only text. But if I neglected to mark a really good refurb positive somewhere let me know and I'll remedy it, or explain why I did not. However, otherwise thank you.

No..it's a compliment. I think you make fair assessments of products and vote how you feel.

Electronics is probably safer to buy refurbished since most defects are revealed in the first month of use and that month is over with refurb. There are exceptions though. I wouldn't buy an LCD TV because the screen has limited life span and can be very costly to replace
