I would argue that taxes on a product should not be considered as an aspect when determining value. Technicality, and legally, most states require you to report Internet purchases on your taxes, so they may then collect the sales tax due to them. Whether you choose to report them is a matter of personal business, but my point is that it really makes little to no difference, except for when those sales taxes are supposedly paid. (You can't "save" on taxes in the legal sense.)
