The problem is not with shortening them (we are currently doing it in the comments). The problem is when a part of the link comes up in the product search results. We have a logic that highlights the search text which currently conflicts with the HTML codes for URL's
well if you searching for lets say "shoebuy" and the URL has shoebuy in it , then it should not be an issue people search for whole words most of the time anyways but I will keep it in mind , just try and give as much information in the post ....so that's it's easier for the person to loook things up
No problem. If we don't find a solution for fixing the "highlight" issue, we may just add several fields in the submission form for custom links you want to paste in the description. In any case, offering product details in the description is the right way to go, just need to figure out the way we can get there w/o breaking what we have.
