I spent an hour here choosing the best deals. When it came time to check out, the cashier told me that I did not get the membership discount, but would have to purchase one to get the savings. There's not much point in a "free one day membership" if there aren't any membership benefits.

Very strange because the coupon mentions 'shop with no upcharge'. Did you show this to the cashier?

Yes, and I brought the form to the membership desk as requested. I'm wondering if this is a case of employee incompetence or bait and switch scam.

An email response from Sam's club: "On the One Day Pass its clearly show on the back of the pass that we charge 10% Membership Fee." Can anyone else find the 10% membership fee line on the link?
