Yes, I changed the title, because I have an issue with this kind of post labeling and classification. Its NOT free if you have to spend $50 to get the bonus gift product. I'm going to suggest that this be changed to a "sale" since no coupon code is required, but its definitely not a free "product".
(Think about it, would it make any sense to add the "free shipping" marker to this as well even though you have to spend $50 first?)

Mods, maybe we need a 4th classification category. Maybe something like "Promotion". That way if its not actually free, nor a specific product, but not an overall sale either, we have a place for it that makes more sense.

Sometimes we see bonus items with "x" amount of purchase, or "free shipping" until some date, but there are not any actual direct items or codes involved with the post. That and an offer of "free shipping" is not the same as a "sale" where prices are discounted.

I see your point Solstice. I'll leave it as is now, until I can talk to Yan about it later tonight.

This is clearly a sale (or "promotion" which is the same thing). No extra category needed. The Goody Bag is not free. It comes as a bonus with $50 purchase

I respectfully disagree with you Solstice and Yan. This is a FREE bag with purchase. You could spend the $50 and get nothing, here they are giving you are free gift with purchase. This is typical in the retail world, "free gift with purchase." The bottom line is that the bag is a free item, if you meet the purchase requirements.

By saying "it is not free" I mean it is not a freebie in the true sense of the word and as such should not be categorized as "free product". The category should be "Sale" in this particular case. I have no problem with the title "Free with purchase" as long as it states the purchase requirement.

Yan this was the original heading the Solstice took up himself to change: "FREE Macy's Deluxe Goody Bag and FREE SHIPPING with $50 Beauty or Fragrance purchaseā€ Everything is clearly stated in the title and he had no business changing it. Just because he feels that it's not truly free. In fact, that was the exactly subject heading of the email I received from Macy*s. By changing the title of this deal, I truly believe Solstice hurt my chances of winning a daily deal. I hope the in the future you will discuss with him that his personal views should be kept of of his role of being able to moderate deals. If he can't not separate his views, from what is normally accepted here, that be removed from editing deals.

I hope this is the last incidence I have with him.

This was all covered in my comments in the discussion arena had it been read fully. http://www.buxr.com/topic/free-with-purchase_219

Picking and choosing which portions of the discussion you want to pay attention and acknowledge, makes for a poor way to talk with people in an ongoing thread, much less jumping to a secondary location.

Yan, I would like to request that this thread also be shut down, I'm tired of looking at continued comments regarding it that skirt the edge of attacking another user, as it is also clearly becoming unduly personal for what was nothing more than a site organization/standards issue.
